CONFESSION AND PENITENCE OF SIN

Sins Concealed So important is it that confession be entire that if the penitent confesses only some of his sins and willfully neglects to accuse himself of others which should be confessed, he not only does not profit by his confession, but involves himself in new guilt. Such an enumeration of sins cannot be called sacramental confession; on the contrary, the penitent must repeat his confession, not omitting to accuse himself of having, under the semblance of confession, profaned the sanctity of the Sacrament. Sins Forgotten But should the confession seem defective, either because the penitent forgot some grievous sins, or because, although intent on confessing all his sins, he did not examine the recesses of his conscience with sufficient accuracy, he is not bound to repeat his confession. It will be sufficient, when he recollects the sins which he had forgotten, to confess them to a priest on a future occasion. It should be noted, however, that we are not to examine our consciences ...

THE EVIL OF HERESY

"The unbelief of heretics, who confess their belief in the Gospel and resist that faith by corrupting it, is a more grievous sin than that of the heathens, because the heathens have not accepted the faith in any way at all. Hence, the unbelief of heretics is the worst sin." - St. Thomas Aquinas, Summa Theologica II-II, Q.10, art.3, ff; art.6 The Roman Catholic Church is the only true one among so many other churches. Almighty God has carefully guarded her, and brought her victoriously through all the persecutions of her enemies. Hence, as St. Iraeneus says (Lib. 3, cap. 3, n. 2), all should depend on the Roman Church as on their fountain and head. This is the Church founded by Jesus Christ, and propagated by the Apostles; and although in the commencement persecuted and contradicted by all, as the Jews said to St. Paul in Rome: "For as concerning this sect (thus they called the Church), we know that it is gainsayed every where" (Acts, xxviii, 22); still she always re...

THE END OF TIME VIEWS AND FALSE PREDICTION.

Investigating God’s Prophetic Plan. Despite recent, kooky predictions about the end of time, there are genuinely apocalyptic events coming. But discerning them is a complex task requiring great caution if one is to avoid the traps sensationalists fall into. The first thing you must do when investigating God’s prophetic plan is to select the right resources. If you want to know the upcoming phases of the moon, you could go to an almanac. But if you want to know how the final drama of human history is going to play out, you’ve got only one source: divine revelation. So don’t obsess about any Native American calendars. Don’t worry about whether the moon is in the seventh house or whether Jupiter is aligning with Mars. Ignore the deliberately vague astrological verses of Nostradamus. Reject what trance channelers and UFO “contactees” have said. Dispense with it all. Stick to God’s word. Even having resolved to do this, you must be careful to make sure that what you are looking to is really...

The history of the Holy rosary

Image
_*"The Rosary is a very beautiful prayer and rich in grace, it is a prayer that closely touches the Immaculate Heart of the Mother of God... and if you want peace to reign in your homes, pray the Rosary in the family" (Holy Father St. Pius X) *_ *Introduction* Every October (10) Catholics are invited to pray the Rosary for the whole month. The main goal is to praise and thank the Virgin Mary for her motherly intercession for us humans. The 10th month is another opportunity to go to the Virgin Mary and share our joy, gratitude, hardships, challenges and expectations through the Holy Rosary which gives us the opportunity to contemplate the mysteries of Jesus and Mary's life in the journey of our salvation. So while we are in the Month of the Rosary, I thought it would be good to bring you, at least briefly, the history of the Holy Rosary. * 1. Origin of the word "Rosary"* The English word "rosary" comes from the Latin word *"Rozarium"* which me...

The world full of lies from Devil.

▪︎The word of God tells us that, the products of a fool is corrupted. They cannot do righteous or good. For within them lies wickedness and out of their mouth comes death. Biblical evidence as why Catholic Church must always be the only true church.

Image
Most Christians in this time are in the greatest confusion about the TRUE interpretation of Bible often due due to iintellectual pride they end up establishing their own sect with theirs authority and get to say others are wrong. This debate goes back and forth on whether this or that doctrine is true, and how much evidence is there for this or that doctrine. However, we also need to step back and look at the “bigger picture.” We need to ask the larger philosophical and theological question, “Is there objective truth?” And then related to that issue is another question, which is probably the most important question for all of us, “Can this objective truth be known by human beings with certainty?” Scripture says, “God our Savior…wants ALL MEN [and WOMEN] to be saved and to COME TO A KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH” (1 Timothy 2:3-4). Catholics and Evangelical Protestants agree on the answer to the first question. We both affirm there is objective TRUTH. We differ as to the sources of objective t...

Don't listen to the voices of the World.

Image
The voice of the world speaks louder than the voice of God in the heart of man mostly in today's world. Man rarely bears any more desire for his Creator when it matters to his soul. Fellow brethren whatever that goes on within man has two different forces ready to render a solution. One for your soul and the other for your flesh. The conscience of man has been compromised with the World. Indeed the world has won the heart of many through what it offers the flesh. Look at the world in which we live; the majority does virtually everything to please the flesh because of the secular benefits they receives. Unlike when it matters the voice and ways of God, the heart, mind and strength of man understand the world so well and are always willing to yield to it (Luke 14:17-20). Man has taken everything that concerns his soul for granted because he does not regard it as his precious asset. Indisputably, Luke 12:34 vividly outlined the nature of man with regards to what he holds in high estee...

Catholics must stand firmly against modernism and its errors to the church.

One must work like a hero in order to preserve one's faith against the onslaughts of an unbelieving world. It is necessary to pray to God: “…to be strengthened with power through his Spirit unto the progress of the inner man; and to have Christ dwelling through faith in your hearts…” (Eph.3:16,17). Lacking this heroism, Catholics are falling away from the faith by the millions, especially the young. Poorly instructed in the Catholic faith, their minds poisoned against Traditional Catholicism, they do not know how to protect themselves from the universal drift into doctrinal error and laxity of morals. Indeed, why should I be a Catholic, if even Vatican II says one must be free to choose one's religion? Why should I abide by the rules and restraints of an outmoded Church, if the priests themselves don't live by the rules? Is not the Church narrow minded and arrogant in claiming to be the one true Church? Why should I not consider the claims of the other religions? The answer...

All sins of flesh are mostly caused by spiritual idleness and physical idleness.

We please the evil one when we allow our souls to become lazy and idle in the things of God. An idle soul is one that does not seek to engage the life of God. An idle soul is one who is passive in spiritual things rather than active. Being “passive,” means that the person is somewhat indifferent to matters of faith and morality. There is little interest in these areas and, as a result, very little effort is given to them. Do not delight the evil one by being idle in your spiritual life. Become zealous, passionate, hard working, diligent and committed to the path of holiness. Seek to meet our Lord, personally, through a life of generous self-surrender to Him. And never tire of doing so with all the powers of your soul (See Diary #1127). What are you passionate about? For example, do you have some hobby or pastime? Do you have some activity that you love doing and spend much time with? Though a hobby can be healthy, your greatest “pastime” should be that of seeking God and ser...

The destruction of truth and reality.

The "philosophy" of the German Protestant Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel considers reality as having a conceptual structure, that is, that reality is subject to human ideas about it. Pure concepts, that is ideas, are not subjectively applied to sense impressions but rather things exist for actualizing their "a priori" (previously understood knowledge) concept. The concept of the concept is called the Idea by Hegel. Sound convoluted? It is. Hegel's method consisted of a triadic development in each concept and each thing. In such a way, he hoped that philosophy would not contradict his experience but that experience would provide data for philosophy, which as a rationalist Hegel thought was the ultimately true explanation. Hegel's triadic method seems to have been widely used in the development of the modernist understanding of various concepts, for instance Liberty. For Hegel, to know what Liberty is he took the example of unrestrained thought, feeling and act...
